A suburb near me carried nunchuks on duty.
I recall when PR24 side handled batons were all the rage. Over the years I have seen various weapons have a rise and fall in popularity. With so many less lethal weapons available, like Taser, ASP, OC, etc., they just don't seem very popular around my parts. I don't hear them discussed very often these days. I do recall back in the day when Minneapolis (MN) Police had officers on duty, in uniform, who would wear short sleeved shirt, because it was summer, and wear their sap gloves on patrol. Minnesota Statute 609.66 discusses dangerous weapons. Use of them would likely result in disciplinary action.
